Tomorrow, Olympique de Marseille hosts Newcastle in the Champions League. Having been absent for several days, will Nayef Aguerd be able to take part?

On the eve of this highly anticipated clash between OM and Newcastle in the Champions League, all eyes are on Nayef Aguerd’s fitness. The Moroccan center-back, suffering from a groin injury for the past few days, was rested by his national team during the international break and underwent medical treatment in Rabat before returning to Provence at the start of last week.

According to L'Equipe, the Marseille staff is proceeding with caution: they do not want to jeopardize his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (from December 21 to January 18), but OM would like to have him available for major fixtures, especially the one against Newcastle. Aguerd’s presence on Tuesday remains uncertain, though a final decision is expected after the last training session.
