Morocco: Nayef Aguerd has a plan to play at AFCON 2025
Marseille defender Nayef Aguerd has mapped out a plan to be available for Morocco at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held on home soil in just a few weeks.
After suffering a recurrence of a groin injury with OM, Nayef Aguerd still answered the call to join the Moroccan national team this November. The central defender traveled to have his injury assessed and to show his support for his teammates. Ruled out for the match against Mozambique, he had to leave the squad earlier than expected.
According to L’Equipe, the former West Ham player is now following a strict, tailored recovery protocol. The aim is to help him recover and play in a few key matches without risking further injury. As a result, he could be fit for the AFCON opener against Comoros at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
This is great news for both Aguerd and the Moroccan national team.
