Senegal secured a 1-0 victory over Guinea on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Lat-Dior Stadium, concluding the second friendly match between the two teams. Thanks to Christian Gomis, the local Lions ended this double-header on a high note as part of their preparations for CHAN 2025.

After a frustrating goalless draw in the first encounter a few days prior, the Senegalese squad looked more inspired for this second test. Souleymane Diallo made sweeping changes to his lineup, retaining only three starters from the previous match (Serigne Moctar Koité, Mbaye Yaya Ly, and Assane Cissé). This reshuffling injected new energy into the team.

The lone goal of the match came in the 36th minute. After a deflected cross from Amadou Bène Coly, Mbaye Yaya Ly headed the ball twice in quick succession. Christian Gomis pounced in the box to slot the ball home and break the deadlock. That goal sparked an immediate response from Guinea, with Cheikh Bouna Camara striking the crossbar. But the Lions stood firm through halftime and all the way to the final whistle. With one win and one draw against a tough opponent, Senegal wraps up this double confrontation on a positive note.
