Christopher Bonsu Baah set to sign in Saudi Arabia
The future of Christopher Bonsu Baah is taking shape far from Belgium. The Ghanaian striker is preparing to leave KRC Genk this summer to take on a new challenge in the Middle East. Negotiations are reportedly at an advanced stage and the transfer is said to be imminent.
The Belgian Pro League club is on the verge of pulling off one of its biggest summer transfers. Having arrived from Sarpsborg in 2023 for around €5.2 million, Christopher Bonsu Baah’s departure should bring a windfall to KRC Genk.
A record exit for Genk
The 20-year-old has confirmed his potential over two successful seasons (90 appearances) with Genk. He particularly stood out during the 2024/2025 campaign, improving his stats with 3 goals and 4 assists in 43 matches, including 29 starts in the Pro League. A Ghana international since May, he earned his first two caps during the Unity Cup.
On the strength of these performances, he has caught the eye of foreign scouts. Al Qadsiah is offering Bonsu Baah a more central role, significant playing time, and an attractive salary. Talks between Genk and the Saudi club are said to have already resulted in an agreement. The deal is reportedly worth around €15 million. The player is expected on the peninsula within the next 24 hours to finalize his transfer.
