Club World Cup 2025: group standings!
The opening matchday of the 2025 Club World Cup group stage, currently underway in the United States, wrapped up with a string of electrifying fixtures and, in some cases, historic results.
Staged for the first time in its revamped 32-team format, the competition brings together the top clubs from six confederations, divided into eight groups of four. The top two from each group advance to the round of 16 in a knockout format.
Among the highlights of this inaugural day, the opening match between Al Ahly and Inter Miami ended in a goalless draw (0-0), set against a sensational atmosphere at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.
Another major talking point: Bayern Munich recorded the biggest win in the tournament’s history with a 10-0 demolition of Auckland City, while Phil Foden netted the fastest goal of the competition, scoring just 111 seconds into Manchester City’s clash with Wydad AC.
