Club World Cup: Renato Gaucho wary of Sundowns

Tension is rising in Group F of the Club World Cup. On the eve of a decisive showdown against Mamelodi Sundowns, Fluminense head coach Renato Gaucho made no secret of his caution.

Speaking to Terra Brasil, Renato Gaucho acknowledged the challenge ahead. "It will be a tough, very dangerous match," he admitted, fully aware of the quality of the opposition. Sundowns, still in the hunt for qualification, have shown they can shake up the established order.

Fluminense, for their part, are coming off an impressive win over Ulsan HD (4-2). But against the South African champions, the game plan will be different. Renato insists:

We will prepare with the same focus. Off the ball, we must stay disciplined. On the ball, we have to go for the goal.

The Brazilian tactician has respect for his opponent. But he’s not backing down:

We know what we're worth. We'll try to neutralise their strengths while imposing our own style.
