Zamalek are severely depleted ahead of their first-leg clash against CR Belouizdad in the Confederation Cup semi-final. The match is set for next Friday at 19:00 GMT at the Nelson Mandela Stadium.

Sayf Farouk Gaafar, Ahmed Hamdi, Mohamed Hamdi, and Youssef Wael have all been left out for tactical reasons. Meanwhile, Angolan winger Chico Banza misses out due to a torn medial knee ligament.

Adding to these five absentees, first-choice goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi is suspended after receiving a red card in the quarter-final against AS Otoho d’Oyo.

With so many missing, the White Knights will try to limit the damage and return from Algeria with as few setbacks as possible.

If they manage to grab a win, it will set them up perfectly for the return leg in Cairo next week, giving them a strong chance of reaching the final.
