The national refereeing administration of the (FTF) has appointed a Portuguese refereeing trio to oversee the capital derby between Espérance Sportive de Tunis and Club Africain, scheduled as part of the 27th day of the Professional Football League 1.

The Portuguese refereeing team includes Luis Godinho as the main referee, assisted by Bruno Esteves and Nuno Mângo as assistant referees. The video officials, Rui Teixeira and Pedro Mota, will also be Portuguese. Tunisian Sadok Selmi will serve as the fourth official.

Derby CA-EST: Portuguese referee Luis Godinho makes history!

This marks a historic first in Tunisian football, as a foreign referee will for the first time officiate both matches of the season between these two giants of Tunisian football. Luis Godinho had already officiated the first leg match, making him the first foreign referee to handle both derbies in a single season.

This upcoming Sunday match will be the third match officiated by the international Portuguese referee this season, following his management of the first leg derby and the classic between Espérance and Club Sfaxien on February 26.

As a reminder, the first leg encounter between the two giants of Tunisian football, held on December 22, 2024, ended in a draw (2-2).
