DR Congo’s 2025 report card!

DR Congo closes out 2025 with a record that commands respect. Out of 14 matches played, the Leopards recorded 11 victories, conceded 2 draws, and suffered just 1 defeat—a testament to their rare consistency at this level. Their defensive solidity stood out with only 7 goals conceded and 9 clean sheets, while their attacking prowess resulted in 24 goals scored.

This momentum propelled the Congolese to 56th place in the FIFA world rankings and 9th in Africa, confirming their steady progress. On the continental stage, the team qualified for CAN 2025, where they reached the round of 16.

Finally, DR Congo can set its sights high: as winners of the African zone play-offs, they will head into the intercontinental play-offs in March—one last step before the ultimate World Cup dream.
