Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Tebogo Langerman has made a shock return to football, having been without a club since July 2022.

The 39-year-old stalwart has been announced as a new acquisition by Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Baroka FC.

Langerman last played competitive football during the 2021/22 campaign, where he was turning out for Moroka Swallows after departing Sundowns.

During his spell at Chloorkop, he made 275 appearances for Masandawana and scored seven goals while providing 24 assists in the process, having arrived in the 2012/13 season.

With Sundowns, the utility player lifted 10 trophies, including six league titles, and the prestigious CAF Champions League under the tutelage of Pitso Mosimane in 2016.

Overall, in his illustrious career, Langerman also played for the now-defunct teams, Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United, racking up a total of 370 matches with 20 goals and 32 assists.

Now, he is set to embark on a new journey in the South African second tier with the aim of helping Baroka to gain promotion to the Betway Premiership.

The Limpopo club was relegated at the end of the 2021/22 term after a bottom-placed finish and has since struggled to make a return to the elite league.
