Exclusive: Denis Lavagne praises Morocco and Senegal ahead of the 2026 World Cup
In an exclusive interview with Foot Africa, French coach Denis Lavagne showered praise on Morocco and Senegal, describing them as the "flagbearers of African football at the 2026 World Cup."

"Several African teams can realistically aim for a spot in the quarterfinals. The most consistent remain Senegal and Morocco, who are currently the two best squads on the continent," said the former Indomitable Lions coach, before adding: "Other teams like Ivory Coast or Algeria also possess interesting qualities. And there could even be surprises, such as Cape Verde. Even if not all of them reach that stage, several African sides could leave their mark on this World Cup."
