Senegal completely botched their start to the 2026 World Cup against France on Tuesday night (3-1). Pundit Daniel Riolo tore into Sadio Mané and his teammates.

After holding their own in the first half and even creating two massive chances, Senegal’s Lions of Teranga collapsed after the break. Up against the individual brilliance of the French, Pape Thiaw’s men lost 3-1. Speaking live on RMC Sport, Daniel Riolo didn’t mince his words about the Senegalese side.

“Senegal’s performance tonight was catastrophic. If I were Senegalese, I’d be far from happy. What was the team’s ambition? What were they actually trying to do? Win? Sit back? Play for a 0-0 and hope for a counter-attack? There was no ambition! There were players we simply didn’t see, poor Sadio Mané, it just confirms he’s nearing the end. […] I’m really disappointed. I didn’t expect to see a team with so little determination and drive,” the pundit fired.
