France team: Cherki's tribute to Didier Deschamps
For Didier Deschamps’ last game, the France team finished in 4th place at the 2026 World Cup.
Two days after Les Bleus’ defeat to England in the third-place playoff (4-6), Rayan Cherki spoke out on his social media.
“Endless gratitude to the coach for everything he has accomplished for French football and for giving me my first caps in blue. His record speaks for itself. Thank you to the staff for their dedication and to everyone at the federation who supported us and made sure we were in the best possible conditions, while looking after our families. Thanks to the whole squad for these unforgettable moments of brotherhood. Despite our differences, mistakes, or failures, we are one family, and it’s up to us to stay united so that French football comes back even stronger!” he wrote.
