This Thursday brought the devastating news: Hugo Ekitike is ruled out of the 2026 World Cup with the French national team. The Bleus captain, Kylian Mbappé, has already reached out to him with a heartfelt message.

Yesterday, Hugo Ekitike limped off injured for Liverpool against PSG in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. The French striker suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon. He is now sidelined for the rest of the season and will miss the 2026 World Cup with Les Bleus. His estimated recovery time is nine months.
