Friendlies - Algeria: FAF confirms a second withdrawal
It’s a true setback for the Algerian national team. After the successive withdrawals of Youcef Belaïli, sidelined by a torn cruciate ligament, and Ramy Bensebaïni, injured while playing for Borussia Dortmund, another blow has struck the Fennecs: Farès Chaïbi is now also forced to pull out.
The Algerian international from Eintracht Frankfurt, who has had an outstanding start to the Bundesliga season, felt a muscular discomfort in his thigh during the last league match. The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) confirmed the news in an official statement, specifying that the player will not participate in this November’s training camp.
It’s another tough blow for Vladimir Petkovic, already without several key players during this crucial preparation phase ahead of AFCON 2025. The string of injuries is taking its toll, undermining the squad’s stability just as the Bosnian coach tries to instill his new tactical vision.
