Friendly: a Cameroon-Egypt clash in June!

Cameroon could soon go head-to-head with Egypt in what promises to be a clash of titans during the next international break scheduled for June. The specialized media outlet Onze Masr mentions this possibility, also highlighting South Korea as a potential opponent for the Pharaohs.

Historically, Egypt stands as a formidable opponent for the Indomitable Lions. The two nations have clashed 18 times, with a clear advantage for the Egyptians: 10 wins, 4 draws, and only 4 losses.

This dominance makes them Cameroon's real nemesis in Africa.

Since 1984, Cameroon has never beaten Egypt!

It is worth recalling that the last encounter was during the AFCON 2022, in the semi-final in Yaoundé. After a tight and goalless match for 120 minutes, the Pharaohs eliminated the host nation in a penalty shootout (3-1).

Remarkably, since 1984, Cameroon has never managed to defeat Egypt in a friendly match. In five unofficial encounters, the record is clear: four losses and only one draw.

The last friendly bout between the two African giants was in May 2012, ending in a 2-1 victory for the Egyptians led by the legend Mohamed Aboutrika.
