Friendly: Egypt vs Nigeria announced ahead of AFCON 2025

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in a friendly match ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

This preparatory clash is scheduled for Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Cairo International Stadium. Egyptian head coach Hossam Hassan expressed his desire to face a top African side to test his squad before the tournament. In addition to this high-profile encounter against Nigeria, Egypt will also participate in the UAE International Tournament.

The Super Eagles, meanwhile, face a packed schedule. Before heading to Cairo, Nigeria will contest the African playoffs for the 2026 World Cup in Morocco:

• November 13: Nigeria vs Gabon
• November 16: Nigeria vs Cameroon or DR Congo (if qualified).

The Super Eagles aim to use these fixtures to build a formidable squad ahead of AFCON 2025.
