Friendly: Mamelodi Sundowns snatch a draw against MC Alger

MC Alger continue their preparations. In a friendly match this Monday, the Algerian champions played to a 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns, the current holders of the CAF Champions League.

MC Alger departed for Austria last Tuesday, where they are holding a training camp in preparation for the start of the 2026-2027 season. Under the guidance of Khaled Ben Yahia, the team played their first friendly against Mamelodi Sundowns on July 27.

It all unfolded in the second half. The Algerians struck first through Zinedine Ferhat in the 56th minute, before Sundowns leveled the score thanks to Brian Leon in the 74th minute.

A reassuring start for the Algerian giants, who showcased their strength against the reigning African champions. For their part, Mamelodi Sundowns will return to South Africa with this result as they gear up for the start of the South African Premier Soccer League on August 1, where they will face Marumo Gallants.
