After Galatasaray SK's defeat to Trabzonspor in the Trendyol Süper Lig, head coach Okan Buruk sharply criticized the way opposing goalkeeper André Onana managed the match.

In his post-match press conference, the Galatasaray boss singled out what he saw as excessive time management by the Cameroonian shot-stopper:

We created chances, but in the closing minutes, there was very little effective play. Andre Onana managed the clock well, as he often does. He broke the rhythm of the match, and the yellow card came late. There was very little stoppage time, and the match ended before the added time was played.

These remarks quickly sparked debate, with some seeing them as a sign of frustration after the loss, while others consider it a typical criticism of goalkeepers' tactics in high-stakes games. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor walk away with a valuable 2-1 victory, in a match remembered as much for the result as for the controversy that erupted in the press conference.
