Golden Boy 2025 award: Assane Diao left behind!

Senegal international Assane Diao has fallen behind in the race for the 2025 Golden Boy award.

This trophy, which rewards the most promising player in Europe, has been awarded since 2023 by the Italian sports daily “Tuttosport.”

According to the poll results published on the Italian newspaper’s website, the Como player received 439 votes out of 67,474, making up just 0.7% of the total.

He lags far behind the two Turkish starlets, Kenan Yıldız and Arda Güler, who play for Juventus and Real Madrid, respectively.

The Juventus youngster secured 19,197 out of 67,474 votes, which is a ratio of 28.5%, while the Real Madrid player received 25,011 votes, accounting for 37.1%.

In 34 matches played during the 2024-2025 season with both Real Betis and Como across all competitions, the Senegalese wonderkid has scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists.
