Ilias Sebaoui restarts his career in Belgium

Ilias Sebaoui has landed at Sint-Truiden. The 23-year-old Moroccan attacking midfielder has signed a four-year contract with the Belgian club, following two seasons spent in the Netherlands.

Developed at Beerschot, Ilias Sebaoui left Belgium in 2023 to join Feyenoord. It was an ambitious move, but one that didn’t materialize on the pitch: he never played a single minute for the Rotterdam club. He was immediately loaned out to Dordrecht in the Dutch second division, and then to Heerenveen in the Eredivisie, where he still managed to gain valuable playing time and top-level experience.

Now, he returns determined to settle and take his game to the next level. At Sint-Truiden, Sebaoui hopes to establish himself as a key figure in the Limburg side’s set-up. With excellent vision and above-average technique, he brings STVV a creative profile capable of making a difference between the lines. Already a youth international for Morocco, he still enjoys a strong reputation in Europe and could well use this return to the Pro League to fully reignite his career. *
