Jacques Songo'o birthday: the illustrious Indomitable Lions goalkeeper celebrates his 61st birthday
Exclusive
Born on March 17, 1964, the illustrious goalkeeper of Cameroon's Indomitable Lions, Jacques Songo'o, a three-time African champion with the Cameroonian squad, celebrates his 61st birthday.
Discovered at Canon Yaoundé when he was just 18, Songo'o established himself as the worthy successor to the two legends Joseph Antoine Bell and Thomas Nkono, managing to win three AFCON titles in 1984, 1988, and 2002 respectively.
A spectacular goalkeeper, the "Indomitable Lion" had his glory days in Europe, particularly in France and Spain.

Besides winning the Spanish championship with Deportivo La Coruña, Songo'o can also boast of being awarded the best goalkeeper of the Spanish league at the end of the 1996-1997 season for his exploits with the Galicians.
While hoping to see another Cameroonian goalkeeper join him on his pedestal, we wish a happy birthday to one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of the Mother Continent!
