José Riveiro: "Against Porto, Al Ahly will play to win"

José Riveiro showed no signs of nerves when discussing the decisive clash with FC Porto. On the eve of the final group match in the Club World Cup, the Al Ahly coach delivered an ambitious message: his team will fight for their survival in the tournament, and they are ready.

With one point on the board, just like Porto, the Red Devils absolutely must secure a win to keep their hopes alive. "Our only objective is victory," the Spanish manager declared at the press conference, as quoted by Youm7:

We know that these kinds of matches are decided by the smallest details, and we are preparing to deliver a top performance.

Riveiro did not shy away from addressing his side’s shortcomings in previous matches against Inter Miami and Palmeiras, particularly highlighting their inconsistency between the two halves. But his confidence remains unshaken:

To keep their campaign alive, Al Ahly will also need to hope for a slip-up from Inter Miami against Palmeiras. But one thing is certain: Riveiro promises "a strong and fearless Al Ahly" against the Portuguese side.
