Joselu to continue his career in Qatar
Joselu has found his next club. According to Matteo Moretto, the 36-year-old Spanish striker will continue his career in Qatar with Al-Sailiya SC.
Agreement reached with Al-Sailiya
A free agent since the beginning of July, Joselu has reportedly reached an agreement with Al-Sailiya to join the club until the end of the season. No transfer fee will be paid, as the former Spain international is currently without a club. Joselu already knows the Qatari league perfectly. He spent the last two seasons at Al-Gharafa, with whom he notably won two Qatar Cups.
Al-Sailiya are thus securing an experienced striker capable of immediately making a difference in front of goal. During his spell at Al-Gharafa, Joselu scored 28 goals and provided 5 assists in 58 appearances. The club, which narrowly avoided relegation last season, will therefore hope to benefit from the Spanish striker’s experience to improve its results.
Several options in Europe
In recent months, Joselu had been linked with several European clubs. Spanish, Italian and German sides, including Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin, had been mentioned. His name had also been discussed in connection with PAOK. None of these moves ultimately came to fruition.
Following his notable spell at Real Madrid in 2023-2024, Joselu will therefore continue his adventure in Qatar, where he will reunite with several familiar faces from European football, including Anwar El Ghazi and Younès Belhanda.
