The former Liverpool manager didn’t mince words:
"It’s all about the game not the commercial side. The timing and length of this tournament make it the worst idea ever implemented in football"
Guardiola: "I Understand Him, But We Don’t Set the Rules"
Speaking ahead of Manchester City’s Round of 16 clash with Al Hilal, Pep Guardiola addressed Klopp’s comments:
"Jurgen always defends the players. I respect his view but we don’t decide the calendar we follow what fifa and the leagues schedule"
He added that both had long fought to reduce fixture congestion in England and he shares Klopp’s concerns.
