Appointed as captain of Bayer Leverkusen, Edmond Tapsoba wanted to share his feelings. In a message posted on his social networks after the announcement, the 27-year-old Burkinabe reflected on his journey with the club.

"From my first day at Leverkusen until today, this club has become much more than just a place to play football for me," he wrote.

Today, wearing the captain's armband is a special honor and a responsibility that I am incredibly proud to take on.

Edmond Tapsoba also expressed his gratitude for the journey since arriving in January 2020—six and a half seasons. He keeps future goals in mind. "Grateful for the path taken so far.
