Linafoot qualifiers: Maniema Union defeats Lupopo 1-0 and revives its season

Relief swept through AS Maniema Union after their 1-0 victory on Monday over FC Saint-Éloi Lupopo at the Mazembe Stadium, in the final round of the first leg of the qualifiers. The team returned to winning ways after a four-week drought.

One goal was all it took. Mbala Titan broke the deadlock in the 60th minute with a direct free kick. With this win, AS Maniema Union edges out AS Vita Club 1-0.

This is also the first win for coach Lassina Koné, who arrived a month ago specifically for the qualifiers.
With this victory, the Kambilembilez put an end to a four-match losing streak and climb to fifth place with 9 points, while the Cheminots remain sixth with 8 points.
