Liverpool: Carragher reassures in case of Konaté's departure

Ibrahima Konaté, 26, sees his contract at Liverpool expire at the end of the season. The French centre-back, who joined from Leipzig in 2021, is being heavily courted by clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and PSG.

Jamie Carragher, former Liverpool defender, commented on the situation: "I’d like him to stay, but if he doesn’t, Liverpool will sign someone else. The club isn’t going to collapse if Konaté leaves." According to him, Konaté remains an excellent player, but he’s not as indispensable as Van Dijk.

Carragher also points out that the club’s management is not at fault: "You can’t force a player to sign. It’s up to him to decide whether he extends or leaves." Liverpool will have to adapt, whatever Konaté decides.
