British press reports revealed last night, Wednesday, that Liverpool's management is on the verge of reaching an agreement to extend the contract of their star, Egyptian Mohamed Salah, for an additional two seasons.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano specified that, so far, no contract has been signed and the situation is not yet official. However, there is a strong connection between Salah and Liverpool, with negotiations having reached a very advanced stage.

Romano wrote on his official account on the platform (X):

"Mohamed Salah, close to concluding a new deal with Liverpool, as negotiations are now in their final phase.

The club is confident of finalizing the deal soon, the same goes for Virgil van Dijk who recently confirmed positive progress.

Salah and #LFC are expected to continue together."

Meanwhile, renowned British journalist specializing in transfers, David Ornstein, revealed that Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk are close to signing two-year contracts with Liverpool, which would keep them at the club until summer 2027.

The details of the two new contracts are expected to be announced in the coming days, reinforcing the team's stability and supporting the project of new coach Arne Slot.

It is worth noting that the Premier League's top scorer this season, with 27 goals scored, is among Liverpool's highest-paid players, earning over 400,000 pounds sterling per week, according to the British newspaper The Mirror.
