Mali Foot Awards: Yves Bissouma named player of the year
Yves Bissouma

On Friday, June 20, 2025, in Bamako, Yves Bissouma was named Mali's best player of the season at the Mali Football Awards ceremony. The Tottenham central midfielder and captain of the Eagles was recognized for his achievements both at club level and with the national team.

The Bamako International Conference Center was buzzing on Friday for the second edition of the Mali Foot Awards, where the Malian Football Federation and AK Agency honored the season's top performers. Yves Bissouma, captain of the Eagles, was crowned Mali's male player of the year.

Despite a tough 2024/2025 Premier League campaign (28 matches, 2 goals) that saw Tottenham finish 17th, the 28-year-old midfielder and his club made their mark in the Europa League. Yves Bissouma and the Spurs lifted the 2025 Europa League trophy, earning the Malian star and his team a spot in the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League.
