Mercato: Charles Pickel wants to join Espanyol Barcelona

Congo midfielder Charles Pickel is looking to leave Cremonese to sign with Espanyol Barcelona during this summer transfer window.

According to reports from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, negotiations have ramped up in recent hours to finalize the deal.

The 28-year-old has already expressed his desire to join the Spanish club, but is still waiting for both clubs to reach an agreement.

The stumbling block is financial: the Catalan club has put forward an offer of €1.1 million, while the Serie A side is demanding €2 million to release the Solothurn native.

Pickel, who has 15 caps for the Leopards, has been with Cremonese since July 2022. He has racked up 104 appearances, scoring 8 goals and providing 3 assists.
