Mercato: Zamalek backs off from Clement Mzize!
The Egyptian club Zamalek appears to have pulled back in the pursuit of Clément Mzize, the promising young striker from Tanzanian side Young Africans, despite recently starting talks to strengthen their attacking line during the summer transfer window.
Zamalek drops the pursuit of Clément Mzeezi?
According to exclusive sources cited by the Egyptian site Kooora, Zamalek had shown genuine interest in Mzize and opened direct negotiations with the player. The 21-year-old was open to a move to the Egyptian capital, pending an official agreement between the two clubs.
However, two major obstacles have stalled the deal: first, the fee demanded by Young Africans (estimated at $2 million) was deemed excessive by Zamalek's management. Second, the involvement of several agents complicated talks, leading to disagreements over the terms of the transfer.
On the pitch, Clément Mzize has played 24 matches this season for Young Africans, totaling 1,050 minutes and scoring seven goals, but without providing a single assist.
The player remains highly sought after. Besides Zamalek, several clubs from the region are closely monitoring his progress, notably Al-Ahly Tripoli (Libya) and JS Kabylie (Algeria), which could facilitate his exit from the Tanzanian league this summer.
