Monza: A lion reborn, Keïta Baldé hungry for success
Exclusive
After a turbulent period in his career on the banks of the Bosphorus, Keïta Baldé seems to be reborn in Italy. Having returned to Serie A a few weeks ago, the talented Senegalese winger is shining in the jersey of AC Monza, a club where he is gradually rediscovering his brilliance.
His successful integration is generating excitement among fans, while the management and coaching staff praise his commitment and impact on the pitch.
A Bold Choice for a New Beginning
A former player of FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, and AS Monaco, Baldé has chosen to revive his career in a demanding league. His arrival at Monza, though far from the Serie A giants, allows him to reconnect with a high level of competition.
Since his first match on February 16, the Lion of Teranga has been making regular appearances and gaining influence within the squad.
Now aged 30, the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations champion has already played four matches in his new colors. On March 8, during his second start against his former club, Inter Milan, he scored his first goal for Monza, temporarily bringing the score to 0-2. Although his team eventually suffered a 3-2 defeat, his performance was notable. Seen in video:
Alessandro Nesta, his coach, expressed regrets about his premature substitution in the 77th minute, noting, however, that he was not yet physically ready to play a full match.
A Look Towards the Future
Reflecting on his journey, Keïta Baldé acknowledges that his recent stint in Turkey with Sivasspor was not the best strategic choice:
"I probably made a mistake leaving the top European level, but today, I feel revitalized and ready to take on this Italian challenge," he confessed with determination.
While the rise of the Senegalese Lion is still underway, his talent and experience make him a valuable asset for Monza.
As he regains full fitness, he could well become one of the most formidable forwards in the Italian championship.
