Nasreddine Nabi off to winning start at Wydad
Nasreddine Nabi guided Wydad Athletic Club to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Union Touarga Sport in the Botola Pro League in his first match at the helm.
The Red Castle broke the deadlock nine minutes from the first whistle, as attacking midfielder Aymane El Hassouni calmly slotted home from the spot.
Wydad, as a result, climbed to third place in the Moroccan topflight standings, having picked up eight points in their opening five fixtures of the 2026/27 season.
Notably, this is Nabi's second job since parting ways with Betway Premiership heavyweights Kaizer Chiefs via mutual agreement in September 2025.
He succeeded Portuguese mentor Paulo Sergio, who was abruptly sacked three months into the job after a slow start to the campaign.
Nabi arrives on the back of severing ties with bitter city rivals Raja Club Athletic, where he reportedly had an internal rift with the club's hierarchy.
His spell at the Green Eagles ran from June 2026 to September 2026, lasting just three months as Fadlu Davids' replacement in the hot seat.
With Wydad set to swing back to action with a clash against MAT Tetouan on Saturday, the former Chiefs boss will be eager to maintain momentum.
