Siwelele FC interim coach Godfrey Mosoetsa has shed light on the reason behind Vincent Pule's absence in the club's last two encounters against Polokwane City.

The 34-year-old attacking midfielder has been a regular feature in the starting XI, making seven appearances in the Betway Premiership thus far, while chipping in with a solitary goal in the process.

His exclusion in the matchday squad in the narrow 1-0 win over Rise and Shine in the league, and the penalty shootout victory against the same side in the Carling Knockout Cup round of 16 naturally raised eyebrows.

Mosoetsa, however, has clarified that the former Orlando Pirates attacker's minutes are simply being managed, as per instructions from the medical team, with the player in the twilight of his career.

“Sometimes the terms that we use because we are not medical people, they'll tell you that let's manage the player. So, managing the player you don't know sometimes whether he's injured or what,” said the caretaker coach.

"Like in my language if a player is not able to play it means that he's injured, but sometimes they say let's manage him because he's one player who will put 100% effort.

"But he's been doing sideline training. He should be back soon but what soon means I'm not too sure as well.

Siwelele, meanwhile, currently sit in 14th place with six points on the table, and are set to lock horns with bottom-placed Marumo Gallants at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in their next league outing on Saturday.
