Nigeria: two key absences against Poland and Portugal

Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman will not take part in Nigeria's friendly matches against Poland and Portugal. Head coach Eric Chelle explained that these absences are due to physical management reasons and club constraints.

Nigeria will have to cope without two of its main attacking weapons. Eric Chelle has confirmed that Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman will miss the upcoming friendlies against Poland and Portugal.

According to the Malian coach, Osimhen has been allowed to stay with his entourage to resolve his club future. The Nigerian striker is reportedly close to a transfer and was not in the best condition to play.

As for Lookman, he has been excused at the request of Atlético de Madrid. The Spanish club believes that the winger is worn out after an especially demanding season.

Nevertheless, these absences will give Eric Chelle the chance to test other options. The Super Eagles are coming off a victory at the Unity Cup, which they won after a 3-0 triumph over Jamaica in the final.
