Official: Emam Ashour extends his Al Ahly contract until 2030

The speculation over Emam Ashour's future is finally over. Al Ahly and their midfield maestro have reached an agreement on a four-year contract extension, keeping him at the Cairo giants until 2030.

Since his arrival in 2023, Emam Ashour has quickly established himself at the heart of the Red Devils' midfield. During the summer transfer window, several clubs showed interest, including Konyaspor, which tabled an official offer. However, Ashour ultimately decided to stay for the next four seasons.

A strong move for Al Ahly's stability

In just two years, Ashour has become a key pillar in the team project. He has made 105 appearances across all competitions and scored 32 goals. He played a crucial role as Al Ahly clinched back-to-back Egyptian Premier League titles in the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons. He was also part of the squad that lifted the Caf Champions League trophy in 2024. This new contract highlights the club management's commitment to continuity and technical stability.

A cornerstone for the Pharaohs too

Beyond the club, Ashour has also grown into a vital component for the national team. First called up in 2021, he is now one of Hossam Hassan’s most trusted men with 31 international caps. He featured in the latest edition of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and shone on the World Cup stage, netting twice in five appearances. At 28, Ashour is hitting his prime, securing his place with the continent’s most decorated club.
