Official: Tariqe Fosu leaves Northampton
Linked with a move to Portsmouth in January 2024, Tariqe Fosu ultimately never made the switch to the south coast. Eighteen months later, the 29-year-old Ghanaian full-back departs Northampton Town, having played 39 matches in the past season.
Arriving in August 2024 after a year without a club, the former Reading, Oxford United, and Charlton player signed a one-year deal. Despite ongoing discussions according to the club, Tariqe Fosu has ultimately turned down the extension offer. Manager Kevin Nolan confirmed the news:
He declined the contract and we move on. I wish him all the best. He worked hard for me.
Tariqe Fosu becomes the club’s 12th departure of the summer. Kevin Nolan praised his mentality:
I told him some hard truths, he accepted them, and showed he could bounce back.
The Ghanaian is now free to sign with any club he chooses.
