Official: Villarreal announce the departure of Eric Bailly

It was reported recently, and now on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, it's official. Ivorian defender Eric Bailly is leaving Villarreal.

With his contract at Spanish club Villarreal coming to an end, Eric Bailly will not be offered a new deal. As we reported a few days ago, the LaLiga club has released a statement thanking the Ivorian defender for his time at the club.

"Villarreal CF and Eric Bailly part ways after a second spell in yellow lasting a season and a half. Thank you very much, Eric, for your dedication, commitment, and professionalism every time you wore our shirt. Best of luck for the future!" the statement reads.

Eric Bailly is now a free agent on the transfer market.
