The Evan Ndicka saga is stirring up the summer transfer window across Europe. Among the top clubs vying for the reigning African champion, Olympique de Marseille has also expressed interest—especially now that the player's price tag has been set.

According to Sky Italia, OM had considered a swap deal involving Ismaël Koné and Evan Ndicka—an idea that dates back to 2023. Ndicka, who was then at Eintracht Frankfurt, had been linked with Marseille during the summer he left Germany, but the French side failed to close the deal and the defender ultimately joined Roma on a free transfer.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that negotiations for a player swap quickly reached a deadlock due to a significant difference in the valuation of the two players. That’s a setback in this saga—one confirmed by journalist Alfredo Padulla on Friday, stating that AS Roma have no intention of accepting a swap deal for Evan Ndicka.

Should AS Roma, facing financial difficulties, become willing to let the Ivorian international defender leave, Marseille would need to put forward an offer of €25 million plus add-ons.
