Osimhen targeted by Al Hilal… Mikel sounds the alarm!
John Obi Mikel, Nigerian football legend and former Chelsea midfielder, has issued a clear warning to his compatriot Victor Osimhen, Napoli striker, regarding his future.
He urges him to think long and hard before leaving Europe for the Saudi Pro League.
Mikel strongly advises Osimhen against moving to Saudi Arabia
In an interview with Nigerian outlet Daily Post, Mikel said: "It would be a mistake to leave Europe right now. He still has so much to offer in the top leagues."
He continued: "It would be a real shame for him to leave so soon. He can still shine here. I’d love to see him in the Premier League this summer."
And concluded: "In my opinion, this is not the right time to go to Saudi Arabia. He should be aiming for clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United or even Paris Saint-Germain."
Despite some reports suggesting an agreement between Osimhen and Al Hilal, other sources claim the Nigerian striker has yet to make a final decision and is still weighing up several European offers.
According to those same sources, Galatasaray have made an especially attractive offer, proposing an annual salary of €15 million to Osimhen, which would make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.
It’s worth noting that the Nigerian centre-forward has had an outstanding season with Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals and providing 8 assists in 41 matches, leading the Istanbul club to a league-and-cup double.
