Panathinaikos: Azzedine Ounahi follows up with a brace in the Greek Cup
Azzedine Ounahi continues to shine for Panathinaikos. Three days after scoring his first league goal of the season, the Morocco international scored twice on Wednesday evening against Kifisia (2-0) in the Greek Cup.
The Moroccan midfielder opened the scoring in the 76th minute from the penalty spot. He then struck again in the 89th minute to seal Panathinaikos’ victory, with another goal that allowed his team to win without conceding.
Three goals in two matches
Ounahi had already found the net last Sunday against Panetolikos. A starter, he scored Panathinaikos’ second goal in the 39th minute before being substituted in the 61st. His team eventually won 3-0.
The Moroccan now has three goals in his last two appearances for the Greek club. His goal against Panetolikos had also been shortlisted among the candidates for the best goal of the fourth round of the Greek league.
Ounahi decisive in the Cup
Against Kifisia, Panathinaikos had to wait a long time before taking the lead. Ounahi ultimately made the difference in the final quarter of an hour. His penalty in the 76th minute got his team going, before his second goal thirteen minutes later.
This victory allows Panathinaikos to continue its Greek Cup campaign with a second win in two matches in the league phase, according to information published after the game.
Having joined Panathinaikos this summer, Ounahi opened his account last weekend. In just a few days, he has now added two more goals to his tally and established himself as one of his team’s most decisive attacking players during this run.
