Premier League: a European champion manager on the chopping block!
Indeed, Ange Postecoglou's time at the helm of Nottingham Forest already appears to be coming to an end. Having arrived at the beginning of September to replace Nuno Espírito Santo, the Australian manager has failed to revive a team in crisis, stringing together seven matches without a single victory. This untenable situation has left the club’s hierarchy considering a swift dismissal, potentially as early as this international break.
According to information from The Telegraph, Sean Dyche is now the frontrunner to take charge. Unattached since leaving Everton last January, the former Burnley boss fits the bill perfectly: he knows the club well from his playing days, still lives in Nottingham, and boasts a strong Premier League track record.
The board has also considered other options, such as Marco Silva (Fulham) or Steve Cooper (Brondby), but financial and contractual hurdles make those choices less appealing. Dyche, meanwhile, stands out as an immediate and cost-effective solution.
Barely appointed, Postecoglou already seems on his way out. His swift downfall highlights Forest’s urgent need to reignite their season, or risk battling relegation right down to the final day.
