Premier League: a giant eyes Himad Abdelli
Himad Abdelli

Set to compete in the Premier League next season, Leeds United are looking to bolster their squad. The English club has targeted Algerian international Himad Abdelli.

Leeds United have made Abdelli one of their top priorities and are reportedly preparing a £12 million bid (around €14.5 million) to convince Angers to part with their midfield maestro. It’s worth noting that Abdelli is coming off a stellar season with SCO, having netted 6 goals and provided an assist in 36 appearances across all competitions.

His consistent performances have caught the eye of German tactician Daniel Farke. The coach, known for his attacking philosophy, is said to be particularly fond of the Algerian’s profile, renowned for his line-breaking runs and vision on the pitch.

According to the latest figures reported by the British press, Abdelli currently ranks among the top attacking midfielders in Europe in terms of progressive runs, placing him alongside established talents like Florian Wirtz—Liverpool’s newest signing—and ahead of promising prospects such as Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. While he’s under contract with Angers until June 2026, the Montivilliers native won’t come cheap.
