Qatar Stars League: Djamel Belmadi set for Al-Duhail move!

After stepping down from his role at the helm of the Algerian national team, Djamel Belmadi is ready to bounce back. According to the latest revelations from Qatari journalist Khalid Jassem, confirmed by La Gazette du Fennec, the former coach has reportedly reached an agreement with Al-Duhail SC, currently leading the Qatar Stars League.
The prospect of a return to Al-Duhail is not surprising. Last April, Belmadi's name had already been circulating as a potential replacement for Christophe Galtier. However, Belmadi's priorities were elsewhere at the time, particularly due to his father's health issues, who passed away in early January.
Belmadi to arrive in Qatar starting next season
Today, according to the same sources, Belmadi is expected to formalize his commitment in the coming days. He would take charge of the Qatari club starting next season, at the conclusion of Galtier's tenure.
This would be a familiar return for the 48-year-old Algerian coach, who enjoyed great success at Al-Duhail. Between 2010 and 2012, and again from 2015 to 2018, the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations champion won four league titles and two cups there.
After months marked by personal trials, this new chapter could signal a rejuvenation for Belmadi, in an environment he knows well.
