Real Madrid: Antonio Rüdiger slams refereeing after elimination against Bayern
Following Alvaro Arbeloa, it's now Antonio Rüdiger's turn to lash out at the refereeing after Real Madrid's quarter-final exit from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern.
On Wednesday night, as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid were heading for extra time, Eduardo Camavinga picked up a second yellow card—a blow that left Los Blancos shorthanded in the dying moments. After the final whistle, Antonio Rüdiger did not hesitate to take aim at referee Slavko Vincic.
"Did everything stop with the red card? Obviously, you can't send a player off for something like that. The referee didn't even realize he had already booked him, and he ruined a magnificent, fiercely balanced game at its peak—that's when the match ended," the German international told reporters in the mixed zone.
