Real Madrid: the locker room has chosen Xabi Alonso's replacement

The future of Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid is growing more uncertain by the day. With a defeat against Athletic Bilbao potentially sealing his fate, tension is mounting within the club and the first leaks are starting to emerge. According to El Nacional, part of the dressing room has already made up its mind regarding the ideal manager to take over the reins of the club.

The Madrid leaders are dreaming of a return for Zinedine Zidane, a respected figure and three-time Champions League winner. However, a major obstacle remains: "Zizou" is expected to take charge of the French national team after the 2026 World Cup, which seriously complicates any immediate comeback. Another name being strongly considered is Jürgen Klopp, who is appreciated by the club's directors, though not as unanimously desired by the players.
