Red Star Belgrade courting Shavy Babicka
Shavy Babicka

Red Star Belgrade has shown concrete interest in Shavy Babicka, the young Gabonese attacking midfielder. While several Turkish clubs are also closely monitoring the Toulouse player, the Serbian champions have made a tempting proposal, according to sources close to the negotiations.

Joining Toulouse in January 2024 for around €2.75 million, Babicka signed a contract running until June 2027. After a season of adaptation, the Gabonese midfielder has found his footing and made a significant impact on the French club's attacking line. During the 2023/2024 campaign, the 25-year-old featured in 33 matches across all competitions, including 30 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists. These performances have been enough to draw the attention of scouts across Europe.

An irresistible offer for Shavy Babicka

One of Babicka's most serious suitors is none other than the reigning Serbian champions: Red Star Belgrade. The Serbian powerhouse, dominating the domestic league since 2018, has put a €4 million offer on the table to prize the Gabonese talent away from Ligue 1. Babicka's salary would jump from €240,000 to €400,000 per year—a proposal that's certainly caught his attention. On top of that, Red Star Belgrade is set to compete in the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League playoffs.

For now, negotiations are ongoing regarding this initial official offer. It's now up to Toulouse to decide whether to accept the proposal.
