Ronaldo rejects $1.4 Billion offer in stunning decision to stay at Al Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo turned down staggering $1.4 billion offer to leave Al Nassr choosing to remain with the Saudi club despite growing financial restrictions and external interest according to reports.
The 41 year old Portugal captain who joined Al Nassr in January 2023 after terminating his contract with Manchester United recently extended his deal with the club until June 2027.
His decision to reject a record breaking proposal highlights his commitment to the Saudi Pro League side at a time when the club is navigating tighter financial controls.
Inter Miami approach rejected
Ronaldo was the subject of massive offer from MLS side Inter Miami, a deal reportedly worth $1.4 billion.
The move would have seen him reunite in the same league as longtime rival Lionel Messi who currently leads the Florida based club alongside Luis Suarez.
However Ronaldo declined the proposal, opting to honour his contract with Al Nassr rather than pursue a new challenge in the United States.
Financial oversight impacts Al Nassr
This situation comes amid increasing scrutiny facing Al Nassr FC from the Saudi Professional League.
According to Saudi journalist Saud Al Sarami, the league imposed restrictions preventing the club from registering contracts exceeding 500,000 Saudi Riyal without prior approval.
The club is also required to provide documentation confirming that all outstanding financial obligations have been settled before it can operate freely in the transfer market.
