Salah’s Rest Request: Liverpool Star May Skip Egypt’s June International Duty
Liverpool & Egypt star Mohamed Salah could be set to skip the upcoming Egypt national team camp in June according to reports from the UK.
Salah seeks rest after long season
As reported by the Daily Mail, the egyptian forward's hoping to get extended break after demanding season with Liverpool. Salah's expected to request time off during the Jun international window to recharge ahead of the 2024 -25 campaign.
Sources suggest that Salah’s recent form at Liverpool's partly due to the rest he had last summer when he wasn't part of Egypt’s squad for the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers. That break allowed him to return sharper and more focused which's something he hopes to replicate this year.
Stellar numbers for Liverpool
Salah's enjoyed another prolific season for the Reds, scoring 32 goal across all competitions. That includes 27 goal in 31 Premier League matches, 3 in the UEFA champions league and two in the Carabao Cup.
EFA approves June program
The Egyptian Football Association EFA recently approved the national team’s program under head coach Hossam Hassan for the June FIFA window, which will include key fixtures in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Whether Salah'll be available for selection remains uncertain.
